10亿美元Claremont McKenna文理学院筹得巨额募捐

Claremont McKenna文理学院近日公布了一个震撼的消息:学院已成功筹集超过10亿美元,成为全美文理学院中最高的筹款纪录之一。这笔资金将用于扩展校园、增加科学项目、扩充师资和增加经济援助,标志着学院步入一个崭新、光明的未来。


不可忽视的是,这一筹款成就的背后,是学院紧密、团结的校友社区的巨大支持。Michelle Chamberlain,学院的发展与学生机会副总裁,表示这一切都证明了他们共同努力的力量和对未来的坚定信心。


Claremont McKenna,作为一所顶级文理学院,以其在经济学、商业和政府方面的专长而闻名。学院现有约1300名学生,是位于Pomona Valley的七校Claremont Colleges联盟的一员。

这次筹款活动使学院有机会对其财政援助进行重大改进。将近30亿美元的资金已投入,以将财政援助增加46%,创建72个奖学金基金,并支持有经济需要的学生的夏季实习和职业指导。这一增强的援助帮助学院将符合联邦Pell Grants资格的低收入学生比例从10%增加到18%,首代大学生从9%增加到17%。


学院还购买了一块75英亩的土地,将校园的面积扩大一倍,以容纳学术和行政办公室、学生宿舍、一个新的水上运动中心和一个将发展成八个运动和训练场地的主要绿地。


目前,一个新的科学中心正在建设中,将成为集成科学新部门的所在地,汇聚了多达25名教授和他们的学生,共同应对人类、大脑和气候健康的三大“宏伟挑战”。


此外,筹款还帮助创建了23个命名教授和主席职位,以支持新的和现有的教师角色。超过12000名捐赠者参与了这次筹款活动,其中包括校友、教师和学生,标志着学院未来发展的坚实基石。
