Empowering Teachers Globally Through Innovation and Recognition

What is TEACHOFF?

TEACHOFF is an exciting new platform created by the California International Teachers Association (CITA), designed to empower educators, celebrate their talents, and foster a global community of innovative teachers.

This isn’t your average professional development opportunity—TEACHOFF is a unique gamified competition where teachers can showcase their skills, share their innovative ideas, and be recognized for their contributions to education.

The program is open to all teachers—whether you're part of a school, learning center, or an individual educator. It’s easy to register as a CITA member and join a community of teachers passionate about transforming education.

The Story Behind TEACHOFF

Education is changing fast. Technology is revolutionizing the way students learn, and today’s classrooms are more dynamic and diverse than ever before. But amidst all this change, one thing remains constant: teachers are at the heart of education. Teachers shape the future by inspiring students and creating environments where young minds can thrive.

Yet, too often, teachers go unrecognized for the incredible work they do. They are asked to do more with less, adapt to rapid changes in technology, and meet the needs of increasingly diverse classrooms—all while navigating complex educational systems. TEACHOFF was created to flip that script.

We believe it’s time to celebrate teachers like athletes—to recognize their creativity, innovation, and leadership in education. TEACHOFF is a platform for teachers to shine, gain recognition, and grow both professionally and personally.

The Purpose and Mission of TEACHOFF

TEACHOFF is driven by one central mission: to empower teachers by giving them a space to compete, collaborate, and lead the future of education.

Our Purpose:

  • To recognize teachers for their skills, creativity, and innovation in education.

  • To provide teachers with a platform to compete in fun, interactive challenges that help them grow professionally.

  • To build a global community where teachers can learn from each other and share their best practices.

  • To ensure that teachers are prepared for the rapid changes in education, especially with the rise of EdTech and modern teaching tools.

How TEACHOFF Works

TEACHOFF is designed to be simple, engaging, and impactful. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Register as a CITA Member

Joining TEACHOFF is easy. Simply register as a CITA individual member to gain access to the platform. Membership gives you access to all of CITA’s programs and resources, including TEACHOFF.

Step 2: Choose Your Challenges

Once registered, you’ll be able to participate in various teaching challenges throughout the year. Each challenge is designed to test your skills in different areas, from lesson design to EdTech integration. You’ll be able to pick challenges that resonate with your strengths or push you to grow in new areas.

Step 3: Compete and Showcase Your Skills

For each challenge, you’ll be tasked with creating innovative lesson plans, solving real-world educational problems, or demonstrating your expertise in the classroom. You’ll then submit your work on the TEACHOFF platform, where it will be reviewed by a panel of expert judges.

Step 4: Evaluation and Feedback

Your work will be evaluated using a 360° review system, which includes feedback from peers, expert educators, and even students where applicable. This feedback will help you grow as an educator and refine your skills.

Step 5: Earn Points and Rewards

As you compete in challenges, you’ll earn points and badges based on your performance. These points will accumulate over time, allowing you to track your progress and strive for new levels of achievement. Top performers will have the opportunity to win classroom grants, professional certifications, and recognition across the CITA network.

Step 6: Connect and Learn

Throughout TEACHOFF, you’ll be encouraged to collaborate with other educators, share insights, and learn from your peers. Whether you’re competing individually or in teams, the platform fosters a spirit of collaboration and community, ensuring that every teacher has the opportunity to learn and grow.
